Centrebet Bookmaker Review

Summary

Centrebet offer customers an excellent racing betting service along with huge stake sizes that will be of appeal to many.

Their in-play betting has improved dramatically over the past couple of years and although the priority is still with Australian customers, there is plenty for punters in the UK and North America and elsewhere to enjoy - especially racing fans!

Background

Centrebet have been online since 1996 and were the first sportsbook in the southern hemisphere to accept bets via the internet.

They are an Australian bookmaker and licensed by the Northern Territory Government's Racing Commission.

The company were originally founded in 1992, offering telephone betting. As their customer base grew, especially in Australasia, the business expanded and Centrebet now have a good customer base in Scandinavia and parts of central Europe, although their product offering still leans towards the country where they are based.

Centrebet Casino and Centrebet Poker are conducted by Centrebet Gaming NV, which is licensed in the Netherlands Antilles. Centrebet Casino is powered by the award-winning Playtech online gaming platform.

Odds and Markets

One area where Centrebet stand out from many of their competitors is their maximum stake size - especially on major football matches and markets such as the Champions League and Champions League.

Odds available are often attractive, although not always the best out there.

Centrebet come into their own when it comes to horse racing, with excellent early prices available and superb coverage from all over the world.

In-play betting is limited and for those not interested in horse racing, appeal may be limited compared to other sportsbooks.

Website

Centrebet have a good website which is extremely user friendly.

Uniquely, horse racing is given its own section which is split from the rest of their sports markets, which may well appeal to racing fans looking to bet on upcoming races from the UK, North American or Australia.

In addition, if you want to move from racing to another sport, this is easily done via a drop-down menu.

If there are criticisms to be made, it is that too much emphasis is put on gaming, while UK coverage could be improved.

Customer Service

Customer support is available 24/7 - but only for English speaking customers.

Support in other languages is bizarrely only available for six hours a day.
