FC Porto v Arsenal betting latest

Matthew Glazier - 9 Dec 2008

Arsene Wenger is currently experiencing one of his toughest seasons to date, although his Arsenal side have still played some excellent football this campaign. This was in evidence at the end of September, when a brace apiece for Adebayor and Van Persie saw the Gunners rout Porto 4-0 at the Emirates. They are 2/1 (bet365) to land a win against the same opponents on Wednesday night.

While both teams have already qualified for the knockout stages, the Portuguese side need a victory to go through as group winners, something which is likely to give them a more favourable draw in the last sixteen. Paddy Power offer 6/4 that they take the three points, although it might be worth waiting for the announced line-ups before placing a bet.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin Van Persie are 13/2 (Betfred) and 7/1 (Blue Square) respectively to open the scoring against Porto.
