McBookie free bet - is it worth it?

Chris Carter - 23 Feb 2009

McBookie opened this morning offering a £30 free bet.

McBookie is - if you believe the marketing spiel - a company dedicated to bringing the best possible service to the Scottish gambling market place.  So if you are mad for Andy Murray to win Wimbledon or Scotland to win the World Cup you'll probably get good odds at McBookie. McbookiePoker.com and McBookieCasino.com are coming next. You can check out the site at McBookie

Although we think its great that Scottish bookies - such as Morrisons which rebranded as Scotsbet - are playing to the home market with nationalistic branding  we have two doubts about McBookie.

First, we think you'll get keener odds on Scottish sports at Ladbrokes, Bet365, Coral or William Hill and second, McBookie appears to be a "price for price" clone of Jenningsbet.

Given  this we recommend it might be worthwhile opening an account here direct as we aren't fans of "skins" of bookmakers - in our opinion its better to open an account direct with the bookmaker or go direct to the big online brands such as Ladbrokes, Bet365, Coral or William Hill.
